36 Arrested, 2 Female Juveniles Rescued in #LASD Human Trafficking Operation, Compton

The Los Angeles Regional Human Trafficking Taskforce, along with deputies from Compton Sheriff’s Station, conducted a human trafficking operation in the city of Compton on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. During the operation, detectives arrested 36 adults and rescued two female juveniles, ages 16 and 17, who they identified as commercially sexually exploited children. One of the females was released to the care of the Department of Children and Family Services and the other to the Probation Department as she had an arrest warrant from San Bernardino County.

Twelve adult females were arrested for the charge of Loitering for the Purposes of Prostitution and two females were arrested for Solicitation of Prostitution after they solicited sex for money from undercover Sheriff’s Detectives. Each of them were offered victim-centered services from Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion Services (LEADS). Seven of the females were identified as victims of human trafficking and accepted ongoing services. The remaining females were booked at the Century Regional Detention Facility.

Twenty of those arrested were male adults who solicited undercover Sheriff’s deputies for various sex acts. Those males were transported and booked at the Century Regional Detention Facility.

Rajene Robinson, a 20 year old female from Santa Clarita, was arrested for the charge of Pandering after she attempted to recruit an undercover Sheriff’s Deputy to work for her as a commercial sex worker. A 23 year old male from Riverside, who was in the company of Ms.

Robinson, was arrested for Carrying a loaded Firearm in a Vehicle and Supervising a Prostitute. Both were booked at the Century Regional Detention Center.

The operation included task force partners from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.), the District Attorney’s Office (LADA), the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Los Angeles Unified School Police (LAUSD), State Parole, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) the Los Angeles County Probation Department, the Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking (CAST), Saving Innocence, and the Department of Children and Family Services. …
